Polar Poetry

Arctic-ulate is a unique, multi-media show inspired by the science and heritage of the polar environment. Written and performed by the Polar Poets, Susan Richardson and Siobhan Logan, it interweaves poetry, performance, story, music and Powerpoint images into a vivid and enlightening one-hour piece of theatre. In the process, themes such as the history of polar exploration, the science and myths of the aurora, and the fragility of the polar landscape at a time of climate change and increasing industrialisation, are also addressed.

Both writers have travelled throughout the Arctic and experienced the polar landscape at first hand. They have performed their work at a wide range of venues and events, including Science Festivals, the National Space Centre in Leicester, the Science Musuem in London, at polar anniversaries and UN World Environment Day celebrations.

Details of forthcoming performances can be found on Susan's Homepage and on the Polar Poets blog.

Comments from audience members on recent performance of Arctic-ulate, at Wrexham Science Festival:

There's so much work gone into this show - it was brilliant!

As a polar buff, this was right up my street. Really interesting.

I've always wanted to see the Northern Lights so the images were wonderful.
