I’ve been a bit remiss on the blogging front lately – due to a combination of general holiday busy-ness, the need to mark a mountain of students’ work and the determination to spend any snatched moments of free time on poetry writing rather than on anything else.
But I’m happy to be back with the news that I’ve got a small piece up on A Handful of Stones today. It’s from the island sequence I’ve been sporadically working on and it was inspired by a trip to Inish Oirr, one of the Aran Islands off the west coast of Ireland, two summers ago.
Thank you Sue and Michelle – I hope you both have a wonderfully creative New Year too.
And thanks for visiting, Joy – warm wishes to you for 2009.
It’s ok to give yourself a break sometimes. Blogging is a big job.
Happy new year with new happy blogging.
Beautifully evocative, Susan, and I can’t wait to read the island sequence.
May your year ahead be filled with creativity, love and extraordinary adventures x
Thank you for this “stone.” It left me with one of those involuntary “ah-yes” smiles on my face. And thanks for the link to that site. I had never heard of it — my God, there are so many worth knowing about. It’s been wonderful “getting to know you” a bit in 2008. I hope 2009 is all you could ever wish it to be. All the best, always.
