I’m thrilled to have heard that I’ve been accepted into membership, as a Fellow, of the International League of Conservation Writers, as a result of my focus on environmental issues in my published poetry, performances and workshops.
As the ILCW website states, ‘The International League of Conservation Writers is a forum to bring writers together from all over the world who are writing to promote wilderness, nature, conservation, and other means to protect and restore the natural areas, habitats, animals, and plants of our planet.’
The complete list of ILCW members can be found here. I feel so honoured (not to mention a bit disbelieving!) to be listed alongside some of my writer-heroes, including Gretel Ehrlich (author of This Cold Heaven) and Jay Griffiths (author of Wild).
I’m really looking forward to interacting with some of the other members and, of course, continuing to commit to writing environment-focused poetry, in the months ahead.
Thank you, Crafty Green!
I hope your Christmas is also thoroughly wonderful 🙂
Congratulations! Have a wonderful Christmas too!
Thanks so much, Caroline.
(I can't believe 2010 is almost at an end. I'm convinced it should still be July!)
Many congratulations, Susan. This is thrilling news and a great way to end 2010 (not that we're quite at that point yet!).
