Been a bit neglectful over the past couple of weeks – too busy to blog… Lots of workshops, private tuition, writing deadlines, reading through the thousands of submissions my co-editor and I have received for the In the Telling anthology, plus a Birthday weekend on the Isles of Scilly. Mainland Cornwall was under a dirty grey cloud the whole time but the sun shone down on the sub-tropical Scilly Isles – I had a great few days of coastal walking, picnicking with partner and dog, visiting galleries, boating…

Realised that I really want to write a sequence of poems about some of the islands I’ve visited. The Faroes. Inishmor and Inisheer off the west coast of Ireland. Lewis and North Uist in the Hebrides. Texel – one of the Frisian Islands. Skomer off the west coast of Wales… Have always been fascinated by what lies beyond land’s end and now very much want to explore the island theme through poetry…

Not yet though. Too much other work to get through first.
