At last – a brief post about the launch of Issue 4 of Long Poem Magazine at Keats House in Hampstead on July 22nd. I’m very pleased to have a new sequence of poems in the magazine and was equally chuffed to be asked to read it at the launch event. Other readers included Giles Goodland, winner of this year’s Cardiff International Poetry Competition and Graham Mort, who shared his forty-minute-long tour de force of a poem, ‘Electricity’.

I hadn’t been to Keats House for about fifteen years and it’s undergone extensive restoration work since then, so I much enjoyed having a look around both house and garden before the event got underway. What a great launch venue! And what a treat to hear so many long poems and sequences in their entirety.
