Together with the commissioning editor of Cinnamon Press, Jan Fortune-Wood, and writer/editor/academic, Gail Ashton, I recently set up TriskeleWrites, a company which offers a range of services to writers including manuscript appraisals, mentoring and residential writing courses.

We’ve all been doing this kind of work on an individual basis for a number of years now and it feels very affirming and exciting to be pooling our experience and supporting each other on a joint venture. It took us quite a few weeks to come up with the ‘right’ name for the company – a triskele is a Celtic symbol, a triple spiral, and this hopefully reflects the creative energy that the three of us want to bring to the project!

Here’s some more detailed info from the TriskeleWrites website:

‘TriskeleWrites was set up by three practicing writers, editors and tutors: Gail Ashton; Jan Fortune-Wood and Susan Richardson, to offer manuscript appraisals, mentoring services to writers, creative writing courses and specialist packages for those who want to self publish their work.

Our aim is to provide high quality services with a clear pricing structure and fair contract for a range of writing services to suit your particular requirements.

We are happy to work with writers across a wide range of genres: non-fiction (including family memoirs or community histories), life writing, full length and short fiction (including short stories and microfiction), travel writing, playwriting and poetry.

If you want to know more please email [email protected].”
