I’m bursting to blog about the events of this past weekend – and I’m going to do so in reverse order, starting with yesterday (Sunday) and then uploading some photos (hopefully later today) to accompany a post about Saturday’s exhibition opening.

Yesterday, I was in London again, performing my eco-poetry at the Women’s Environmental Network’s local groups retreat. The event was held at Southwell House in Hampstead, an elegant Victorian venue with a beautiful large leafy garden. At long last, after what’s felt like months of unceasing rain and grey skies, there was brilliant sunshine, so I was able to give an al fresco performance on the terrace!

I received a really warm welcome from everyone and much enjoyed sitting in on some of the other sessions, hearing more about WEN’s current campaigns and fundraising efforts. Their work on climate change and also their activism around the issue of toxic chemicals contained in cosmetics and toiletries are particularly inspiring.
